Food Expiry Date Tracker

A photo of the label is enough

Screens

What it does

You remember when you bought it, and then somehow the date goes past. This is a notebook for the dates on the food and the emergency stock in your home.

  • Registering, with a photo
  • The label or the package becomes the picture for that item, so you can tell what it is without typing a name
  • The date takes a few taps. Choose whether it is a use-by or a best-before
  • Home-made dishes and leftovers with no barcode can be registered just the same
  • Use-by and best-before, shown apart
  • A use-by date and a best-before date are shown with different colours and different words
  • What is shown is a guide. It is not a judgement about whether something is still good
  • When a date comes close, you are told quietly (the time can be changed)
  • Mark it when it is finished
  • Marking an item as eaten or thrown away clears it from the list and frees a slot
  • If everything is used up within a month, there is a small quiet celebration
  • Made to be safe to use
  • Photos and data stay inside this device only (nothing is sent anywhere)
  • No ads
  • Ten items are free (finishing an item frees a slot)

For the "how long has this been in here" at the back of the fridge.

No ads, no account. If anything leaves your phone, the screen that does it says so.
